Panja Vaisshnav Tej’s long-delayed movie Aadikeshava has finally released today in theaters worldwide. Dive into our review to know how the film fares.

Story :

Balu (Panja Vaishnav Tej), the carefree son of police officer Sundara Rammurthy (Jayaprakash), eventually opts for employment at the urging of his mother( Radhika Sarathkumar). Joining Earthy Cosmetics, a company owned by Siri (Sreeleela), Balu finds himself entangled in unexpected twists just as his connection with Siri deepens emotionally.

As Balu and Siri’s feelings for each other blossom, the narrative takes a riveting turn, introducing startling developments in Balu’s life. The crux of the story lies in where these developments lead and the intricate connections Balu shares with key figures such as Mahakaleswar Reddy (Suman), Chenga Reddy (Joju George), Vajra (Aparna Das), and his mysterious link to Brahmasamudram and Rudhrakaleshwar Reddy. The unfolding revelations form the captivating essence of this intriguing narrative.

Pros :

In his first commercial action drama, Panja Vaisshnav Tej steps into a new territory, showcasing improvement in acting, dancing, and fighting skills compared to his previous projects.

Sreeleela brings glamour to the screen, enhancing the film’s appeal. Her on-screen chemistry with Panja Vaisshnav Tej is decent, complemented by her exceptional dancing prowess. The first half is sprinkled with laughter-inducing comedy scenes featuring Vaisshnav and Nellore Sudhakar, while other cast members deliver satisfactory performances.

Cons :

The storyline takes a hit, lacking originality and becoming highly predictable. While the first half maintains a smooth flow with enjoyable comedy, the second half falters due to the protagonist’s less-than-perfect alternate shade and over-the-top scenes. The film has entertaining fight scenes, but at times, it drifts into unrealistic moments reminiscent of a notable director’s style.

Aadikeshava introduces many unnecessary characters without proper development, leaving actors like Suman, Sada, Aparna Das, and others with lightweight roles. Sreeleela’s role, while okay, is confined to dance sequences and a few love scenes. Joju George’s character lacks fierceness, blame the writing for not allowing him to shine.

Technical Points :

Debutant writer and director Srikanth N Reddy excels in crafting clean comedy but falls short in delivering a compelling story that captivates the audience. Music director GV Prakash Kumar delivers an average score.

The cinematographer Dudley does his best to make the film look rich. Editing meets expectations, and the decent production values help the film.

Final Words :

On the whole, Aadikeshava is a mediocre action drama, introducing Panja Vaisshnav Tej in a new light. His comedy timing, performance in action scenes, Sreeleela’s glamour and the comedy scenes in the first half are the other positives, but the outdated storyline, over-the-top action scenes in the second half, and unnecessary scenes are the main drawbacks.

Considering alternative entertainment options this weekend might be a prudent choice.
